Consumer Products announced today that they are partnering with Milkshake Productions and Goal Ltd., to represent the “Goal!” trilogy of football films as their worldwide master licensee. Known as soccer in the United States, international Football is considered the most popular global sport. The deal gives Warner Bros. Consumer Products merchandise licensing rights for the first two films in the trilogy, as well as an option for the third. Supported by the leading football governing bodies, European Clubs and several premiere brands, the film has broad appeal for filmgoers of all ages, not just football fans. It features quality cinematography, authentic football action and great performances from the likes of Kuno Becker, Anna Friel and Alessandro Nivola. “Goal!” will also feature cameos from some of the biggest football stars in the world including: David Beckham, Kieron Dyer, Zinedine Zidane, Raul Gonzalez, Patrick Kluivert and Alan Shearer. The first movie launches in the UK on September 30, 2005 and is planned for a March 2006 release in the U.S. The worldwide premiere is set for September 13, 2005 in London.
