Besner will serve as WBDN’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, working across WBDN's portfolio of digital services and production labels to identify growth opportunities and maximize revenue through distribution. Besner comes to WBDN from Spotify, where, as Head of Global Acquisitions for Video and Non-Music Audio, he guided the digital streaming service’s content expansion and innovation efforts. Previously, Besner launched Netflix’s original content initiative as its Vice President of Original Programming; and he worked with Lucasfilm overseeing worldwide distribution of franchise and newly filmed IP.
Salter joins Digital Networks as Senior Vice President, Business and Strategic Planning, with responsibility for key strategy and operating initiatives across the WBDN portfolio of over-the-top channels and digital short-form production companies, as well as evaluating new opportunities and helping to grow existing initiatives. In addition, Salter leads the strategic investment and M&A function for all OTT and Digital Networks projects, and in this area will report to Thomas Gewecke, Chief Digital Officer and Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Warner Bros. Entertainment. Prior to WBDN, Salter worked almost 10 years in Warner Bros. Corporate Business Development & Strategy, most recently as Vice President, where he served in a leadership role executing a variety of M&A, strategic investment and growth opportunities.
As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Soo will be responsible for overseeing marketing for all companies and programming within the WBDN group to develop initiatives that promote the division and strengthen its consumer relationships. She will play a key role in enhancing brand awareness and exploring opportunities that help to innovate the way consumers experience content through WBDN’s wide portfolio of assets. Soo joins WBDN from Fullscreen Media, where she was Vice President of Consumer Marketing, overseeing Originals and Content Marketing, Social, and PR. Before that, she was Head of Social at Hulu, where she led efforts to innovate, create and scale the digital vision across Brand, Originals, Content, and Product. Soo was also an early hire at Dollar Shave Club where she served as Head of Social and built the startup’s marketing roadmap from the ground up.
Warner Bros. Digital Networks is responsible for creating and building the Studio’s digital and OTT video services, producing digital native content and growing Warner Bros.’ direct-to-consumer capabilities by expanding Warner Bros.’ footprint by launching new offerings, growing current company-owned services and making strategic alliances. As part of Time Warner's overall growth in direct-to-consumer offerings, WBDN works closely with sister divisions Turner and HBO. WBDN's portfolio includes Boomerang (a partnership with Turner), DramaFever, Machinima, Warner Archive, Stage 13, Uninterrupted (a partnership with LeBron James and Maverick Carter), Ellen Digital Ventures (a partnership with Ellen DeGeneres), a DC Entertainment-branded service debuting in 2018 and a number of other services to be announced in the coming months.
