Warner Bros. Entertainment Announces 2014 Reach Program Honorship Recipients
(June 4, 2014 – Burbank, CA.) – Warner Bros. Entertainment has announced high school seniors Devon Black, Jesse Butera, Michelle Costanza, Aisha Hauser, Cassie Jeong, and Michael Sherman as the 2014 Reach Honorship recipients.
Through its Reach program, Warner Bros. awards internship and scholarship packages, known as Honorships, to five graduating high school seniors passionate about the business of entertainment each year. As part of these Honorships, students are awarded scholarships as well as the opportunity to complete four summer internships at Warner Bros., beginning with the summer immediately following their high school graduation. Additionally, each summer the scholars are paired with a different executive mentor and provided additional networking opportunities with entertainment industry professionals. Successful Reach program graduates are eligible for full-time positions at the company after completing their degrees.
“Through the Reach program, we are able to seek out and shepherd the next generation of talent from among our surrounding community,” said Mary-Elizabeth Michaels, Director, Community Affairs, Warner Bros. Entertainment. “Our Honorship recipients gain unique access and experience through their four summers interning at Warner Bros., and we are committed to shaping their professional development and best prepare them for their post-college careers.”
A recent graduate of Burbank High School, Jessie Butera is this year’s recipient of the Burbank Reach Honorship, created specifically for residents of the studio’s longtime hometown. Starting in the fall of 2014, Butera will be a freshman at California State University, Long Beach, planning to major in both film production and electronic arts. She will receive a $10,000 college scholarship coupled with the opportunity to complete four consecutive, paid summer internships at the studio.
Los Angeles County Reach Honorships were awarded to Devon Black, Michelle Costanza, Aisha Hauser, and Michael Sherman. All four students will also receive a $10,000 college scholarship and the opportunity to complete four paid summer internships at the studio. Black is a recent graduate of Trinity Classical Academy and will be studying communications and business in the fall. Costanza, a graduate of San Pedro Senior High School, will enroll at University of California, Santa Barbara this fall, where she plans to double major in pre-communications and film.
