Warner Bros. International Television Distribution Realigns European Operations With Promotions And Territory Reassignments
(September 5, 2000 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has realigned its European operations, promoting two sales executives and expanding the territories of two others. Philipp Rohwedder has been promoted to Vice President & Managing Director, German-Speaking Territories, and Caroline Lang has been promoted to Executive Director, French-speaking Territories. Additionally, Tim Horan, who serves as Sales Director, Central & Eastern Europe, will add Russia to his purview, while Ian Giles, WBITD’s Sales Director for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa will add Israel and South Africa to his scope of responsibility. These announcements were made today by Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television.
Each of the sales executives will be responsible for the licensing of WBITD’s television and feature film product to broadcast, pay, video-on-demand, satellite and cable television clients throughout their respective territories. Rohwedder, who reports to Josh Berger, Senior Vice President, International Sales and Business Development & Managing Director for Europe, WBITD, will continue to be based in Hamburg, Germany. Lang, who reports to Michel LeCourt, Vice President, French Territories, WBITD, will continue to be based in Paris. Horan and Giles, who report to Chris Law, Managing Director, UK Territories, WBITD, will continue to be based in London.
“This is a very distinguished group of sales executives and these promotions and assignment of additional territories not only better utilizes the strengths and regional expertise of Philipp, Caroline, Tim and Ian, but also maximizes the efficiency of our operations,” said Schlesinger.

Rohwedder had served as Managing Director, German-Speaking Territories for the past three years, establishing WBITD’s first field office in the territory in Hamburg in 1998. Prior to that, he served as Director of Sales Planning, having started with the company in 1996 as a Management Trainee for WBITD. Before joining Warner Bros., Rohwedder spent two years at Bertelsmann AG, serving as both Project Manager for Online Services and Assistant to a Member of the Executive Board.
Lang moves up to her new post from Director, Sales, French-speaking Territories, based in WBITD’s Paris office, a position to which she was promoted in 1997. Prior to that, she served as Special Programming Director for Warner Home Video, Paris, 1994-97; and Vice President, Time Warner Publishing, Paris, 1992-94; and International Project Director, Time Warner, 1991-92.
Horan was promoted to Sales Director, Central & Eastern Europe in 1996, having joined the company in 1994 as Sales Executive, Central & Eastern Europe and Africa. Before joining Warner Bros., Horan worked for two years at BBC Enterprises as Senior Territory Manager, Italy, responsible for program sales, joint ventures, co-productions, format and video sales, and licensing in the Italian market.
Giles was promoted to Sales Director, Middle East and Africa in 1996, having joined the company that same year as Sales Executive, Middle East. Prior to that, he spent five years at Transworld Television in London as a Contracts Administrator and Sales Executive. # # #
