Warner Bros. International Television Production to Offer New Dating Format “Wanted” from Trio Orange
(September 20, 2012 — London) — Warner Bros. International Television Production has acquired the rights to distribute the brand new dating series, “Wanted” from leading Canadian producer Trio Orange. The 14 episode series premiered on 4 September on V Tele in Canada.
“Wanted” is a unique dating show and is different to anything else on the market. In each episode, with the help of a psychologist and police profiling specialists, the bachelor or bachelorette creates a composite sketch and psychological profile in order to issue a “wanted” notice online through social media sites in order to find the partner they’re looking for. This light-hearted search for a soul mate continues with the choice of five candidates who will have to pass all kinds of tests - but potential suitors have to be careful – it will never have been this hard to steal someone’s heart.
“The dating genre has proven successful for WBITVP as these formats have worldwide appeal – everyone relates to the search for love. Trio Orange has put a fresh spin on the genre by turning it into a police-style hunt. This unique twist leads to surprising and effective match-ups and will be attractive to international producers and audiences alike, so we believe that the format will travel well around the globe” said Andrew Zein, SVP, Creative, Format Development and Sales WBITVP.
“We are very proud to work with Warner Bros., a perfect partner for our explosive dating show. “Wanted” brings a very original twist to the popular dating show genre. It’s fresh, spectacular and hits its primary target: entertaining viewers on all platforms” said Eric Hebert, Executive Producer, Trio Orange.
