Warner Bros. Pictures To Expand The Clint Eastwood Hit, “Space Cowboys,” For Special Holiday Run
(December 1, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - In time for the holidays, “Space Cowboys,” one of the best-reviewed films of the year, which has grossed approximately $90 million in its domestic theatrical run, will again enter the marketplace on December 22, expanding its run by 500 theaters, it was announced today by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The film, which opened on August 4, is directed by Clint Eastwood, who also stars as a retired would-be astronaut who reunites his team for the mission of their lifetimes. Eastwood leads an all-star cast that includes Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland and James Garner. The expansion will also give members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences another opportunity to view the film on the big screen.
“We are delighted to bring this movie back to theaters for those who didn’t get to see it the first time around or for its fans who want to see this remarkable cast together again,” Fellman said.
Warner Bros. Pictures presents in Association with Village Roadshow Pictures/Clipsal Films a Malpaso Production and Mad Chance Production. Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland and James Garner star in "Space Cowboys," also starring Marcia Gay Harden, William Devane, Loren Dean, Courtney B. Vance and James Cromwell. Music is by Lennie Niehaus. The film is edited by Joel Cox. Henry Bumstead is the production designer. Jack N. Green, A.S.C. is the director of photography.
