Warner Bros. Pictures Germany Extends Partnership With Industry Leader X-Filme With New Distribution Deal
(February 17, 2004 – Burbank, CA) - Warner Bros. Pictures Germany is extending its partnership with German film industry leader X-Filme and its distribution arm X-Verleih AG in a long-term, multi-faceted distribution agreement covering up to 20 films, it was announced today by Willi Geike, Vice President & Managing Director, Warner Bros. Pictures Germany.
Warner Bros. Pictures Germany’s association with X-Filme began in 2001 with “Wie Feuer Und Flamme” and continued through the highly successful theatirical box offce and DVD/VHS success of the multi-award winning “Goodbye Lenin!” directed by Wolfgang Becker in 2003.
“We are looking forward to continuing the great relationship with X-Verleih AG that we have achieved in working together on such famous movies like 'Goodbye Lenin!' in the last three years,” said Geike.
Manuela Stehr, Chairman of the Board X Verleih AG said: “I am happy to continue the not only successful but also faithful and harmonious relationship with Willi Geike and his team at Warner Bros. Pictures Germany.”
Stephan Arndt, Chairman of The Board X-Verleih AG said: “A close and procreative collaboration has been developed not only with Willi and his team in Germany, but also with Richard J. Fox, Executive Vice President, International, Warner Bros. Entertainment.”
