Warner Bros. Pictures Julian Senior To Step Down
(December 6, 2000 - Burbank, CA) - Warner Bros. Pictures veteran Julian Senior has decided to step down from his duties as head of the European Regional Advertising and Publicity for Warner Bros. Pictures at the end of the year, it was announced today by Richard Fox, Executive Vice President, International, Warner Bros.
“Julian has been integral to the success of our European marketing and publicity campaigns for over thirty years. He is recognized throughout the industry for his high professional standards and his extraordinary creativity,” said Fox. “We will certainly miss him and his contribution to our company and our films, but after so many successful years at the heart of the Studio’s European marketing and publicity operations, we understand and support his desire to direct his energies and talents towards other ventures and to spend more time with his family.”
“I joined a resurgent Warner Bros. under the guiding hand of the legendary Steve Ross,” said Senior, “so someone up there really did like me - a lot. Over the next three decades I worked with - and for-some of the most inventive, creative, inspirational, compelling and talented people in the industry. The time has now come to hand over the baton.
“I shall miss Warner Bros. and my many colleagues and friends, but I leave behind a remarkably able and committed European Marketing team who will surely help lead the company forward into many more successful years.”
After an 8-year spell with MGM, Julian joined Warner Bros. Pictures in 1970 as an Advertising and Publicity Consultant in the Studio’s European Regional Office. Soon thereafter, he was appointed Vice President, European Advertising and Publicity. In 1993, Julian was promoted to his current position of Senior Vice President, European Regional Advertising and Publicity. Over the years, Julian has directed scores of Warner Bros. film campaigns, working with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and filmmakers. Most notably, Julian developed a longstanding, close professional and personal relationship with Stanley Kubrick. # # #
