Warner Bros. Studios Announces Reorganization Of Brazilian Film And Video Operations
(June 4, 2003 - Burbank, CA and San Paolo) - Based on the rapid growth of both the feature film and home video industries in Brazil, Warner Bros Studios has reconfigured its joint Brazilian operations, creating two separate entities, each overseen by an in-country general manager.
Jose Carlos Ribeiro de Oliveira has been appointed General Manager, Brazil for Warner Bros. Pictures International, reporting to Redo Farah, Senior Vice President, Latin America, Warner Bros. Pictures International. Marc Caux has been appointed General Manager, Brazil for Warner Home Video, reporting to Marc Gareton, Senior Vice President, Latin America, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, Warner Home Video (WHV).
Additionally, Francisco Feitosa, who most recently served as General Manager, Brazil, Warner Home Video, becomes Executive Director, Latin America, reporting to Gareton.
“These new appointments reflect our commitment to the continued growth of our business in Brazil,” said Farah. “The new structure will maximize WHV’s resources in one of Latin America’s most vibrant territories,” said added Gareton.
Francisco Feitosa joined Warner Home Video in 1991 as Finance Operations Director in Brazil and was promoted to Controller in 1998. Feitosa was appointed Managing Director of WHV/Warner Bros. Pictures International in 2000 and ran the joint operation until January 2003.
Marc Caux joins WHV from Universal Pictures Brazil where he was Managing Director for their Brazilian operations. Previously he was with Disneyland Paris as Country Manager, Viacom Interactive Entertainment, and WHV France as Sales Manager. He is a graduate of Institut Superior du Commerce et du Management, University of Lille.
Jose Carlos joins Warner Bros. Pictures International from United Cinemas International Brazil Ltda (UCI) – Rio de Janeiro, RJ as Managing Director. Previously he was with Playcenter S.A. – Sao Paulo, SP as Business Development Director, at Arthur D. Little, Ltda – Sao Paulo as Senior Manager. He is a graduate of Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado – Sao Paulo, SP. # # #
