Warner Home Video Appoints New Managing Director In Japan
(October 15, 2001 - Tokyo, Japan and Burbank, CA) – Warner Home Video (WHV) has appointed Takeshi (Tim) Harada as Managing Director, Warner Home Video, Japan effective immediately, it was announced today by Warren Lieberfarb, President WHV. Mr. Harada will be responsible for all home video activities, and will have direct control over WHV-Japan operations including sales, marketing, finance and DVD production.
Warner Home Video has been a leader in the home entertainment industry in Japan and was instrumental in the development of DVD. “Japan is a very dynamic and exciting marketplace, and we are fortunate to have Mr. Harada join our company to spearhead our activities. He is a very experienced senior executive and as we continue to build the DVD format in Japan, his experience and expertise in the video game and consumer electronics arenas will be invaluable,” said Warren Lieberfarb on making the announcement.
Mr. Harada will join WHV from PCCWJ where he has been President of the Gaming Division. Previously he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Capcom, USA based in Sunnyvale, California where he was responsible for the management of all international subsidiaries. He began his career at Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, holding various positions, including Manager, Network Business Development and Manager, MCA Liaison Office where he supported the standardization of DVD in Hollywood and video game development at MCA Interactive Media operations. Mr. Harada will report directly to Mr. Lieberfarb.
Mr. Harada replaces Toshio Yajima who has resigned from WHV-Japan to pursue other business opportunities.
