(April 10, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - Warner Home Video (WHV) launches its next slate of feature films under the new Warner Power Lease June Program, headlined by “The Green Mile,” winner of four Academy Award® nominations including Best Picture. Other titles included in the Program will be “Next Friday” from New Line Home Video (NLHV), “Liberty Heights” from WHV, “Witness Protection” from HBO Home Video (HBO) and “Freedom Song” from TNT. Currently -- in addition to revenue sharing and standard terms -- retailers have the choice of participating in each studio’s existing copy depth program: the Warner Lease Program, New Line’s Double Up Program, HBO’s 50% Free Units Program and HBO’s Bonus Lease Program. Under the new Warner Power Lease June Program, retailers can increase their copy depth even further by buying all five titles at goal, based on historical purchases, with a minimum of one tape per store for all titles. Retailers will then be eligible to 1) purchase bonus units from 100% to 400% of goal at a greatly reduced cost and 2) receive a $6.00 rebate for each bonus unit returned. All “The Green Mile” and “Next Friday” bonus units must be returned; only bonus units above 100% for “Liberty Heights” need be returned. There is no return requirement for “Witness Protection” and “Freedom Song.” Signed agreements must be received by May 23 in order to participate in the Warner Power Lease June Program. Retailers must return discounted units in accordance with prior copy depth programs. “With such a strong response to our first Power Lease Program, we were eager to develop a second phase featuring these popular June titles,” said Jim Cardwell, WHV executive vice president, North America. “Tailored specifically to retailers’ needs, this program offers an easy, cost-effective way of generating customer-satisfying copy depth.” The Warner Power Lease June Program will also be heightened by the launch of a new summer consumer promotional offer. When customers rent two titles from the Warner Power Lease Program, they can receive a free “The Perfect Storm” theatrical poster by mail (plus $2.00 shipping & handling). “The Perfect Storm” starring George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg opens in theaters June 30. With operations in 78 international territories -- more than the video division of any other studio -- Warner Home Video commands the largest distribution infrastructure in the global video marketplace. WHV'S film library is the largest of any studio, offering top-quality new and vintage titles from the repertoires of Warner Bros. Pictures, Turner Entertainment Company, Castle Rock Entertainment, HBO Home Video and New Line Home Video. New Line Home Video distributes all of New Line Cinema and Fine Line Features theatrical films on video and select titles on DVD. The company also distributes feature films and non-theatrical programs acquired or produced by New Line Home Video and New Line Television. New Line Cinema is the leading independent producer and distributor of theatrical films. New Line also licenses its films to ancillary markets including cable and broadcast television as well as in all international markets. HBO Home Video markets an extensive variety of HBO original programming ranging from multiple Emmy Award® winner "A Lesson Before Dying" to the hit animated series "Todd McFarlane's Spawn" to the groundbreaking miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon." HBO Home Video's product line also includes three labels targeted to the sell-through market -- HBO Kids Video, HBO Sports Video and HBO Undercover -- which feature a wide range of collectible programming.
