The WB Joins Historic Cross-Network Broadcast Of "America: A Tribute To Heroes"
(September 20, 2001 - Burbank, CA) - The WB Television Network will proudly join ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in broadcasting "America: A Tribute to Heroes," Friday, September 21 (9:00-11:00 p.m. live ET; delayed PT).
In order to accommodate this special, The WB has rescheduled its Friday premieres to October 5. Leading into the special this Friday, September 21, The WB will broadcast an encore episode of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" at 8 p.m., followed at 8:30 by "The WB Sneak Peek Special," featuring a preview of new programs premiering on the network this fall.
"America: A Tribute to Heroes" will be a live, two-hour, commercial-free simulcast bringing the family together to salute the American spirit, and raising funds for a long-term relief effort for the thousands of Americans who have directly suffered from last week's tragic events.
From New York and Los Angeles, celebrities from television, feature films, music, sports and news will take part in an uplifting evening filled with music, memories, hope and inspiration. The event will be broadcast live by The WB affiliates in the Eastern and Central time zones and tape-delayed in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, as well as video streamed on the Internet.
The WB will continue to provide family-friendly programming throughout the fall season with such shows as "7th Heaven" (premiere on September 24), "Gilmore Girls" (two-hour premiere on October 9), "Smallville" (premiere on October 16) and the Friday night comedies "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," "Maybe It's Me," "Reba" and "Raising Dad." # # #
