The WB Promotes Horwitz To Vice President Of Human Resources
(March 1, 2000 – Burbank, CA) – Jody Horwitz has been promoted to Vice President, Human Resources of The WB, it was announced by Mitch Nedick, the network’s Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations.
Ms. Horwitz was named The WB’s first in-house Human Resources executive in April 1998. She is responsible for the creation and ongoing development of a human resources infrastructure, which will keep pace with The WB’s business objectives while enabling the highest levels of employee innovation, productivity and creativity.
“Jody is truly one of the network’s unsung heroes,” Mr. Nedick said. “She has taken what is a thankless position and excels in every facet and responsibility. There is no doubt that she helps create an exceptional working atmosphere at The WB.”
Prior to joining The WB, Ms. Horwitz was Director of Human Resources at Warner Bros., working with many divisions including Technical Operations/CVC, Warner Digital, Castle Rock and The WB. During her tenure Ms. Horwitz was integral to the smooth transition for employees affected by the Time Warner-Turner merger. Before joining Warner Bros. in February 1997, she served as Director of Human Resources for all of the West Coast subsidiaries of Turner Broadcasting System.
Ms. Horwitz has served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Human Resources Association and is an active member of several industry organizations such as the Entertainment Industry Human Resources Forum and The Next Generation Council of the Motion Picture and Television Fund. # # #
