The WB Rounds Out Its Midseason Pick-Up Of “Roswell,” “Gilmore Girls” & “Nikki” With Additional Episode Commitments For “Felicity,” “Grosse Pointe” & “Hype”
(December 6, 2000 – Burbank, CA) — On the heels of a record-breaking November sweep, The WB has ordered additional episodes of the resurgent drama “FELICITY,” the sketch comedy show “HYPE” and the acclaimed freshman comedy series “GROSSE POINTE” from Darren Star, it was announced today by Susanne Daniels, President, Entertainment for The WB. The WB previously announced midseason pick-ups for “ROSWELL,” “GILMORE GIRLS” and “NIKKI.”
The addition of the two first-year comedies to the two freshman series already picked up means that The WB has ordered additional episodes of every new series.
“Ratings are up in Adults 18-34 on all six nights of programming,” said Ms. Daniels. “All of our freshman comedies deserve additional episodes, while ‘Felicity,’ ‘Roswell’ and ‘Gilmore Girls’ continue to exceed our expectations. It’s been a great season so far.”
The coming-of-age drama “FELICITY” can now officially be dubbed “The Comeback Series of the Year” as it is delivering on its early promise both creatively and with record ratings. The sketch comedy show “HYPE” takes viewers into the land of lampoon with fast-paced parodies and celebrity impersonations taking on all things hyped in pop culture. The satirical half-hour comedy “GROSSE POINTE,” which chronicles what really goes on behind the scenes of “television’s hottest teen drama,” recently moved from Fridays to Sundays in an effort to pair it with a more compatible lead-in, “NIKKI.”
“FELICITY” is produced by Imagine Television in association with Touchstone Television Productions, LLC. “GROSSE POINTE” is produced by Artists Television Group, LLC. “HYPE” is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. # # #
