(November 18, 2002 – Burbank, CA) – The WB Television Network will bring Hawaii to the mainland in the summer of 2003 with the relationship/lifestyle/reality series “NORTH SHORE” (working title). Produced by Basic Elements, the series follows seven professional surfers who will live together in a beach house in Hawaii while competing against each other in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Viewers will have the unique opportunity to see inside the largely unknown culture of surfing and the aggressive world of competition. The series will consist of six one-hour episodes. Filming on the majestic North Shore of Oahu, the series will feature five-time Vans Triple Crown champ Sunny Garcia, defending Vans Triple Crown champion Myles Padaca, Damien Hobgood who ranks #14 in the world, big wave surfer Danny Fuller, model and world traveler Veronica Kay, college graduate and top female extreme athlete of the Teen Choice Awards Holly Beck and Australian Chelsea Georgeson, who currently ranks fifth in the world among all female surfers. “The WB offers the ideal audience for ‘NORTH SHORE,’“ said Jordan Levin, President, Entertainment, The WB “We can provide trend-setting, action sport shows the exposure they desire to broaden their reach with young audiences.
