The WB Sweeps Into May
(April 18, 2001 – Burbank, CA) — The WB Network will roll out a line-up of not-to-be-missed original episodes during May sweeps. The biggest event will be the gripping conclusion of the season-long battle between Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Glory (Clare Kramer) on “BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER” on Tuesday, May 22 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET). Buffy’s fight to save her sister Dawn’s (Michelle Trachtenberg) life culminates with a fight to the death in the season finale and the series’ landmark 100th episode.
May marks a turning point for the characters on “DAWSON’S CREEK” as high school comes to a close for Dawson (James Van Der Beek), Joey (Katie Holmes), Pacey (Joshua Jackson), Jen (Michelle Williams) and Jack (Kerr Smith). The Senior Prom is filled with romance and heartbreak on Wednesday, May 9 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) and the graduation of the Capeside High Class of 2001 may leave Pacey behind on Wednesday, May 16 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).
In a two-part season finale of “7th HEAVEN” airing on Monday May 14 & 21, (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), Mary Camden (Jessica Biel) returns home with Eric’s (Stephen Collins) blessing, but her deception is exposed and may thwart all of her plans. Andrew Keegan (“10 Things I Hate About You”) reprises his role as Mary’s ex-boyfriend Wilson.
On “CHARMED,” the season ends on a tragic note on Thursday, May 17 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) when one of the three sisters may be killed after Prue (Shannen Doherty), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Piper (Holly Marie Combs) make a deal with the dark side that turns bad.
On “ROSWELL,” Max (Jason Behr) learns that his one night of passion with Tess (Emilie de Ravin) created a new life form on Monday, May 7 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). He soon discovers that their baby’s survival depends on the aliens’ return to their home planet, so they say goodbye to everyone and prepare to leave Earth in the season finale on Monday, May 21 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).
The WB’s drama series deliver memorable original episodes this May, as “GILMORE GIRLS” brings romantic complications to both Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) culminating in a surprising season finale on Thursday, May 10 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET). On “FELICITY,” Felicity (Keri Russell) and Ben (Scott Speedman) find their relationship on the rocks and all-too-ready attractions elsewhere, while Noel (Scott Foley) faces down his future at graduation in the season finale on Wednesday, May 23 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). “ANGEL” takes a trip into another dimension as Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) is accidentally sucked away and Angel (David Boreanaz) must rescue her from a life of slavery, beginning on Tuesday, May 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).
Comedic highlights include a spoof of teen thriller movies on “POPULAR” on Friday, May 4 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) and a “Survivor” parody on “THE PJs” on Sunday, May 6 (7:30-8:00 p.m. ET). Sunday, May 20 marks a night of season finales highlighted by Steve (Steve Harvey) and Regina’s (Wendy Raquel Robinson) romantic coupling on “THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW” (8:00-8:30 p.m. ET) and a birth on “FOR YOUR LOVE” (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET). # # #
