"The Ellen DeGeneres Show's" Premiere Week is its Highest-Rated in 13 Season History!
Tuesday's premiere featured an interview with Caitlyn Jenner in her first talk show appearance. On Wednesday Ellen welcomed 18-year-old activist and the youngest Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Malala Yousafzai. On Thursday and Friday, the show kicked off two shows originating from New York's Rockefeller Center, featuring Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and host of “The Tonight Show,” Jimmy Fallon.
A similar success story for the NBC O&O’s – Ellen delivered her highest-rated debut week ever with Households scoring a 2.9/8 and second highest-rated debut week with Women 25-54 with a 1.6/10 (just short of 2012's 1.7).
New York’s WNBC also saw Ellen’s biggest debut week’s ratings with Women 25-54 (2.1/13), a +31% increase over last season’s debut week.
For the week, Ellen proved to be a strong recruiter, building +5 shares over lead-in with Women 25-54 and +2 shares with Households. The show improved +45% rating over Sept 2014 time period with W25-54, +32% rating with Households.
