Tammy Golihew Named Vice President, Publicity, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing
(April 2, 2007 - Burbank, CA) – Tammy Golihew has been named Vice President, Publicity, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing, it was announced today by Sharan Magnuson, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Publicity, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing, to whom she will report.
In the newly created position, Golihew will serve as Magnuson’s second-in-command for the Worldwide Television Publicity unit, complementing Magnuson in providing business communications counsel to the Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) and its executives, as well as its five production divisions: Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Television, Telepictures Productions, Warner Bros. Animation and Studio 2.0. She will also spearhead publicity strategy for Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution and Warner Bros. International Television, and will serve as liaison to Warner Bros. Digital Distribution on publicity efforts related to the streaming and downloading of the Studio’s television properties.
Additionally, Golihew will work with Magnuson on communications efforts for the Worldwide Television Marketing unit itself, supervising business, trade and consumer publicity efforts in support of initiatives created by the division’s New Media, Promotions and Creative Services departments. Finally, she will oversee the marketing communications activities of the department.
“Tammy is a bright, energetic and strategic communications executive with an invaluably diverse background,” said Magnuson. “We are thrilled to be able to tap into her expertise and relationships with trade and consumer press, as well as her experience working in network, syndicated and cable television, and in the new media space.”
Golihew has worked in entertainment publicity for more than a decade, with 10 years specifically in the world of television. In her career, Golihew has created and executed consumer and business/trade publicity campaigns for TV series in virtually every daypart and genre of the industry, including network primetime dramas and comedies; daytime dramas; made-for-television movies, miniseries and reality shows for broadcast and cable; first-run and off-network syndicated programming; and animation.
She joins the Studio from BNC Public Relations, where she most recently served as Vice President, Entertainment, overseeing the agency’s television, home entertainment and entertainment business practice. Her clients included NBC Universal Entertainment, Endemol USA and Endemol Digital Media, Discovery Communications, A&E, ESPN Original Entertainment, RDF USA, The Miss America Organization and A. Smith & Co, among others. She also spearheaded consumer publicity campaigns for the Emmy®-nominated series “House” and “Scrubs,” as well as overseeing publicity efforts for Academy Award®-winning writer/producer Bobby Moresco (“Crash,” “The Black Donnellys”) and Oscar®-nominated screenwriter Josh Olson (“A History of Violence”).
Prior to BNC, Golihew was Director, Media Relations, for Sony Pictures Television, overseeing publicity for a variety of broadcast, cable and first-run syndicated series, including “Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Judge Hatchett” and MTV’s animated “Spider-Man,” among others.
Before that, Golihew completed her first tour of duty at BNC, serving as an Account Supervisor and leading the publicity team for television series including “Just Shoot Me,” “Blind Date,” “The Parkers,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,” FOX Sports’ “The Best Damn Sports Show, Period” and “JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.” She got her start in television at Shepley Winings Hober Public Relations (now Shepley Winings Diamond), handling publicity for “Ally McBeal,” “The Practice,” “Any Day Now” and the Game Show Network, among others.
