WarnerBros.com Launches New Holiday Episode Of "Timber Wolf" From Legendary Animation Director Chuck Jones
(December 13, 2001 - Glendale, CA) - Thirty-five years after his animated classic "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" first aired, legendary animation director Chuck Jones has ventured back into holiday cartoons for only the second time in his long career with his newest creation Thomas T. Wolf, producing a five-and-a-half minute Christmas special titled "Ohhh! Christmas Tree." The episode, part of Warner Bros. Online's new Flash-animated internet series "Chuck Jones' Timber Wolf," will be available for viewing exclusively at www.warnerbros.com beginning December 17 and continuing through the holiday season.
The series' main character is Thomas T. Wolf, a timber wolf with a problem: He is compelled to utter his middle name-Timber!-and yet whenever he does, trees crash down on him. In "Ohh! Christmas Tree!" Thomas finds the holidays a joyous (but painful) time of year.
"Ohh! Christmas Tree!" features the voice talents of industry veteran, Joe Alaskey, as Thomas Timber Wolf and Emmy Award-winning Nancy Cartwright (best known as the voice of Bart Simpson) who plays Thomas' friend Earl Squirrel.
"Chuck Jones' Timber Wolf" features the first new characters Jones has created for Warner Bros. in more than four decades. This original property was created by Jones then developed by Executive Producer, Co-Writer and Supervising Director Stephen Fossati, producers Philip Vaughn and Jeff DeGrandis and director Steven Dovas in the spirit of Warner Bros.' classic Looney Tunes shorts, with the same Jones attention to character, humor and believability.
Chuck Jones, a four-time Academy Award winner, is the legendary creator/director of such characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Pepe Le Pew and many others. # # #
