Acclaimed Director James Frawley Signs Exclusive Development And Directing Deal With Warner Bros. Television
(July 18, 2001 – Burbank, CA) - Emmy nominee James Frawley (“Ed”) has signed an exclusive one-year development and directing deal with Warner Bros. Television, it was announced today by Peter Roth, President, Warner Bros. Television.
Frawley directed the pilot of the new Warner Bros. Television action comedy series “Thieves,” and will direct and serve as co-executive producer on four additional episodes of the ABC show this season. In addition, Frawley will direct four episodes of select WBTV series including “Smallville.”
Frawley’s impressive career as a television director includes Emmy nominations for the pilots of “Ed” and “Ally McBeal,” as well as a Director’s Guild Award for the “Ally” pilot. His episodic credits include “Law and Order,” “Picket Fences,” “Chicago Hope,” “The Practice,” “The Fugitive” and “Judging Amy.” In addition, he directed a number of high profile pilots turned series including “Thieves,” “Kate Brasher,” “Jack & Jill,” and “Vengeance Unlimited.”
Frawley’s feature film credits include “The Muppet Movie,” “The Big Bus” and “Kid Blue.” His made-for-television movie credits include “The Three Stooges,” “On the Second Day of Christmas,” and “Sins of the Mind.” # # #
