Adam Steinman Named Vice President, Non-Scripted International Development & Sales Warner Bros. International Television Production
(November 1, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – Adam Steinman has been named Vice President, Non-Scripted International Development & Sales, at Warner Bros. International Television Production, it was announced today by Ronald Goes, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. International Television Production.
In his new position, Steinman will be based in Burbank and will report to London-based Andrew Zein, WBITVP’s Senior Vice President, Creative Format Development & Sales. Steinman will be charged with overseeing the adaptation and development of non-scripted programming based on formats and original concepts developed from within the International Television Production group and international third party producers (and vice-versa). He will also be responsible for helping WBITVP identify U.S. producers to partner with, as well as acquiring U.S. formats to be exploited internationally.
Established one year ago, the International Television Production unit has a mandate to acquire or build production companies in major territories around the world, to develop original local programming, and to adapt output from the Studio on a market-by-market basis.
“Adam’s keen sense of reality programming and his breadth of knowledge in this specialized genre make him a terrific addition to our newly established business,” said Zein. “As the bulk of our operations are based in London, we will look to Adam to represent our efforts on the other side of the pond.”
Steinman joins WBITVP after four years at Tiger Aspect USA, an entity of Tiger Aspect Productions (TAP), one of the UK’s leading television producers. Since December 2006, Steinman has served as Vice President of Development and Production, responsible for Tiger Aspect USA's network and cable development projects. He developed and sold shows to Bravo (“Make Me A Supermodel”), Lifetime (“Cook Yourself Thin”), A&E (“Rookies”), History (“Extreme Trains”), TLC (“Makeover Train”) and truTV. During his tenure at Tiger, he also was an executive producer on several series, pilots, and specials including Bravo's "Make Me A Supermodel" and History's "Extreme Trains."
He began his entertainment career with Perpetuum Productions, co-founding the multimedia production company. In 1998, he began producing and writing a variety of different series that appeared on CBS, ABC Family, Bravo, TLC and many more. In 2004, Steinman joined Lion Television, Inc., as the Head of Development. He directed Lion’s U.S. network and cable development efforts. He created, formatted and sold shows (“Cash Cab,” “12th Year Senior,” “S.W.A.T. USA,” “Science Investigators,” “Evolution Of” and “Discovery Rewind”) for MTV, Discovery, TLC, Court TV, PBS, and Discovery International.###
