Brett A. Paul Named Executive Vice President, Business Affairs, Warner Bros. Television
(June 2, 2004 – Burbank, CA) – Brett A. Paul has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Business Affairs, Warner Bros. Television, it was announced today by Craig Hunegs, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Television.
“In the evolving television landscape, Brett has proven to be a forward-thinking executive in addition to being a tough but fair negotiator,” said Hunegs. “His recent handling of some of our most high-profile deals reinforces that he is a smart, creative and effective dealmaker. As importantly, he has done a terrific job of collaborating over staffing and managing the most active Business Affairs department in television. This promotion could not be more well-deserved.”
Paul, who moves up from Senior Vice President, joined the company in 1995 as Vice President. He has been the key negotiator for many of the studio’s umbrella network license and production company arrangements, as well as major overall deals, and has also overseen the negotiation and administration of talent, development and production agreements. Moreover, he has served as the studio’s principal business contact for Chuck Lorre, Greg Berlanti, Josh Schwartz, Hank Steinberg, John McNamara, Wonderland Sound and Vision, and The Tannenbaum Company, among others, and has had direct oversight of “Two and a Half Men,” “The O.C.,” “Without a Trace,” “Smallville” and “Everwood,” among other projects.
Prior to joining Warner Bros., Paul developed his skills as a corporate/securities lawyer at top law firms in both New York and Los Angeles, followed by a brief stint as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs at All American Communications.
