Fifteen-Year Industry Veteran Eliot Goldberg Joins The WB As Vice President, Alternative Programming
(March 2, 2005 - New York, NY) – Eliot Goldberg brings his successful 15 years of experience in reality programming to The WB, joining the network as Vice President, Alternative Programming, it was announced today by Keith Cox, The WB’s Senior Vice President of Alternative Programming, to whom he will report.
During his 15 years in the business, Mr. Goldberg has worked as executive and producer on all genres within alternative programming, including reality, game, talk and sketch shows.
“Eliot’s vast experience will be a great asset for us as we try to identify our next reality hit and franchise,” said Mr. Cox. “His relationships with top-level producers will also help bring The WB’s alternative programming department to the next level.”
Mr. Goldberg comes to The WB from Stone Stanley Entertainment, where he was Vice President, Current Programming. He shepherded many outstanding series, including The WB’s first reality hit, "Popstars," which was a precursor to “American Idol,” in addition to “The Mole,” “Celebrity Mole,” “The Joe Schmo Show,” “Fame” and “The Man Show.”
“Eliot has worked on shows that have connected with The WB’s young adult audience,” Mr. Cox continued. “He is a hard-working executive who knows his way around all facets of alternative programming.”
Prior to joining Stone Stanley, Goldberg served as Director, Development for VH-1, where he was the supervising producer on several series, including the critically acclaimed documentary series “Fan Club” and “Bands on the Run,” for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Reality Series. Mr. Goldberg also worked as Director, Development for Buena Vista Television and as a producer for “Access Hollywood,” E! Entertainment and the syndicated talk show “Last Call.”
