Gary Miereanu Named Director, Publicity, Warner Bros. Animation
(April 16, 2007 - Burbank, CA) — Veteran entertainment and sports communications executive Gary Miereanu has been named Director, Publicity, Warner Bros. Animation (WBA), it was announced today by Jessica Pinto, Vice President, Animation Marketing, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing, and Sharan Magnuson, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Publicity, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing.
In this position, Miereanu will oversee all publicity activities for WBA’s myriad properties, including all original television series and the Studios’ vast animation library, featuring such iconic brands as Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera. He will work closely with Warner Home Video on the publicity campaigns for WBA’s highly successful made-for-DVD feature releases. Additionally, he will manage the communications relationship between WBA and the Studio’s other business units that distribute or license WBA content, including Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution. Miereanu also serves as WBA’s communications liaison with DC Comics.
He will also have publicity oversight for Kids’ WB! on The CW, the No. 1 Saturday morning broadcast programming slate for children.

Miereanu will report to Pinto and Magnuson, and will work closely with Sander Schwartz, President, Warner Bros. Animation, and Betsy McGowen, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Kids’ WB!
Prior to joining Warner Bros., Miereanu served as Vice President of Communications for the Los Angeles Dodgers, most notably during the 2004 National League West championship season, the team’s most successful campaign in the past 18 years. Prior to his work with the Dodgers, Miereanu served as Director, Publicity, for Walt Disney Television Animation (WDTVA) and ABC Cable Networks Group, from 1997-2004. His responsibilities focused on all aspects of comprehensive publicity campaigns for animated series and television specials, as well as providing support for WDTVA-produced theatrical and video premiere releases.
A graduate of California State University, Northridge, Miereanu began his professional career as sports editor of the Burbank Daily Review in 1983. He has worked both in-house and as a consultant for an extensive list of clients, including Siegfried & Roy, Disneyland Resorts, Sport Magazine, Prime Sports/Prime Ticket Network, Whittle Communications, Saint John's Health Center and the Los Angeles Daily News.
