Jessica Schell Named Executive Vice President and General Manager, Film, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment
(November 6, 2014 – Burbank, CA) Jessica Schell has been named Executive Vice President and General Manager, Film, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, it was announced today by Jim Wuthrich, President, Americas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, to whom Schell will report. She joined the company this week.
In her new role, Schell will assume global responsibility for all operations related to the sales, marketing, distribution, finance and administrative functions of the Studio’s film-based home entertainment releases, including both new theatrical titles and catalog films.
“Jessica has a strong background in new media and digital entertainment, which will be crucial to her new role as our industry focuses on transitioning consumers to digital media usage and ownership,” said Wuthrich. “She’s a great addition to our team, and I look forward to working with her.”
Prior to joining Warner Bros., Schell spent nine years at NBCU, most recently serving as Executive Vice President, Worldwide New Media and Digital Entertainment, Universal Pictures since late 2011. Before that she was Executive Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Planning. She also served as Senior Vice President, Digital Media Strategy and Business Development at NBC Universal.
Schell has also held posts at Allen & Company and The Walt Disney Company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American history and literature from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
