(November 21, 2005 - Burbank, CA) - M-Net has signed a first-run, pay-television deal with international entertainment giant Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD). This multi-year deal gives M-Net subscribers access to the TV premieres of Warner Bros’ leading movie titles. Africa’s biggest pay-television operator also recently secured the right to first broadcasts of Warner Bros.’ top television series. The movie deal between M-Net and WBITD will give viewers the first opportunity to see blockbuster films on television on M-Net and its channels. This deal includes smash hits such as "Batman Begins," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Oceans 12," "The Island" and the Harry Potter movies, as well as many award-winning made-for-television films. Under the terms of the separate WBITD/M-Net series agreement, M-Net acquired the rights to first screenings of highly-acclaimed, successful new US series, such as "Invasion," "War at Home," "The Closer" and "Veronica Mars." Popular Warner programmes, which have always premièred on M-Net, will also return to the channel. M-Net viewers can look forward to new seasons of "ER," "Smallville," "Nip/Tuck," "Joey," "Everwood" and "Without a Trace," to name but a few. M-Net’s CEO, Glen Marques, says the new deal guarantees M-Net viewers the best of the best programming. “We’ve had a long and excellent relationship with Warner Bros. and are pleased that all these movies and series will be seen on M-Net first. As always these movies will be presented uninterrupted only on M-Net.” Warner Bros. International Television President Jeffrey R. Schlesinger added: “We are pleased that M-Net subscribers will continue to have access to our films and television series in these deals and that we are continuing our long-standing, good relationship with this pay-television network.” The series agreement also sees M-Net channels actionX and M-Net Series secure exclusives in "Supernatural" and "The Evidence" and "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" respectively.
