Mark Easton Named Deputy General Counsel, Warner Bros. Entertainment
(April 18, 2011 – Burbank, CA) – Mark Easton has been named Deputy General Counsel, Warner Bros. Entertainment, it was announced today by John Rogovin, Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Warner Bros.
In his new post, Easton will work closely with Rogovin supervising the legal support for the business transactions of the Studio on a global basis as well as assist the corporate staff to identify and delineate long-term growth strategies and business plans for Warner Bros. Easton will assume his new post in May.
“Mark is one of the preeminent transactional lawyers in the country with broad legal experience and knowledge of our businesses,” said Rogovin. “His seasoned skill set and tactical approach will make him a terrific Deputy General Counsel and a great addition to our team.”
Easton joins Warner Bros. from O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice. He has advised public and private corporations, private equity funds, boards of directors and financial advisors in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and other transactions, as well as corporate governance and securities law matters, in a broad array of businesses, including entertainment, internet, sports, and telecommunications.
Easton has been named one of the Top 100 Leading Lawyers in California by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals and one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business by Chambers USA.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College, a Master’s in Public Affairs from Princeton and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. ###
