Richard Fox To Head Transition Team For Warner Bros. Pictures International
(May 15, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - In light of the recent announcement that Ed Frumkes (President, International Distribution & Marketing) will be leaving Warner Bros. Pictures, Richard Fox, Executive Vice President, International, Warner Bros., will head a transition management team to insure the continued smooth operation of Warner Bros. Pictures’ International Distribution & Marketing, it was announced today by Alan Horn, President & Chief Operating Officer, Warner Bros.
The highly regarded Fox, who has been overseeing Warner Bros.’ international businesses from a corporate perspective since his appointment to his current post in 1992, served the prior eight years as President of Warner Bros. Pictures International Theatrical Distribution.

Pictures International is made up of a superbly talented, well-respected group of professionals, with strong leadership and support in some 60 territories throughout the world, who will continue to aggressively market and release our pictures into the international marketplace,” said Horn. “Ed and Richard have dedicated themselves to assuring a seamless transition and giving us the time to explore all of our options without interfering with any of the day-to-day operations.”
The transition team, lead by Fox, consists of the three key home-office operating executives who have been integral to the extraordinary success of division. They are: Sue Kroll, Senior Vice President, International Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures; Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, Senior Vice President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures; Angelina Speare, Senior Vice President, International Operations & Finance, Warner Bros. Pictures.
Kroll’s responsibilities will be increased to include oversight of creation and execution of marketing, advertising, media planning, promotion, publicity and research. Working closely with filmmakers on the campaign creation and strategy, Kroll is also charged with the day-to-day execution of marketing campaigns in all the international territories.
Kwan-Rubinek will oversee the general distribution and film release functions, including dating strategy, competitive positioning and tracking box office grosses and film rentals for Warner Bros. Pictures films in the international marketplace.
And, Speare will be responsible for finance and business affairs as well as the day-to-day operations and administration for Warner Bros. Pictures International’s offices and licensees throughout the world.
The team will work closely with the international regional supervisors (including Julian Senior, Senior Vice President, European Advertising & Publicity, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures; Ivan Cheah, Senior Vice President, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia , International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures; Redo Farah, Senior Vice President, Latin America, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures; Bill Ireton, Managing Director, Japan, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures; and John Alonte, Vice President, Asia, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures) to facilitate the smooth transition. # # #
