Stuart Krasnow Named Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs, Telepictures Productions
(October 16, 2012 – Burbank, CA) – Telepictures Productions has named Stuart Krasnow to the position of Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs. It was announced today by Hilary Estey McLoughlin, President, Telepictures Productions, to whom Krasnow will report.
Krasnow will oversee all of Telepictures’ creative efforts regarding new program and content development for all distribution outlets. He will be responsible for the creation of new programming for Telepictures’ core first-run syndication business, cable strips, digital and will be charged with identifying ideas and talent across all platforms.
"I am thrilled to have Stuart running development at Telepictures. He completely understands our business and brings a fresh perspective and entrepreneurial spirit from running his own production company. Stuart has an unbelievably prolific and creative mind, has great instincts and relationships and is terrific with talent and producers. I love how passionate he is about finding and implementing innovative approaches. I am confident that he will lead our talented team to groundbreaking new content across all platforms,” said Estey McLoughlin.
"Entertainment has become a business where content is king and Telepictures is an industry leader in the diversity and quality of content that it provides to the marketplace every single day. I don't think there is a better place to be for someone who loves to create, develop and nurture content and talent, than to be part of a company that can react daily to the constant challenges in what we watch and how we view it," said Krasnow.
Krasnow has developed and produced in almost every genre of unscripted television for nearly every major television network and studio in the U.S., ranging from network primetime reality and game, daytime talk, cable docu-drama, late night talk, news and documentary. His track record includes such hits as “The Weakest Link,” “Average Joe,” “Dog Eat Dog” and “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.”
Most recently, Krasnow has been running his own production shingle, Krasnow Productions, for the last three years. Under his banner, Krasnow had an overall production deal with Fox 21, and has sold and developed projects for GSN, OWN, HGTV, A&E, TBS, E! and MTV.
In daytime, Krasnow was the person who identified Ricki Lake as a person who could host a talk show, which he later signed on to help launch, fostering a breakthrough reinvention of the talk show format. He also served as Executive Producer on King World’s “The Martin Short Show,” and was Executive Producer and co-creator on Twentieth’s “Forgive Or Forget With Mother Love” and on ABC’s “The Mommie's” talk show and was an Executive Consultant for ABC’s “The View." Previously, Krasnow held the post of Senior Producer on “Dateline NBC” and NBC’s “Today" and served as Senior Talent Coordinator on “Late Night with David Letterman.” Krasnow began his career working for CNN, where he was named Senior Producer in charge of Entertainment coverage at the age of 24.
Krasnow will oversee Telepictures’ creative development team, which includes Sheila Bouttier, the Senior Vice President, Programming and Development, who is an eight-year veteran of the department and Tomii Crump, Director of Development, who joined the team in October 2011 from TV Land. Krasnow will also manage the producers with overall deals at the company.
Krasnow replaces Lisa Hackner, who recently departed the studio after a 22-year tenure to develop and produce her own projects.
