USA Network Announces Deal With Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution For Off-Net Runs Of “Veronica’s Closet,” “Jesse” And “The John Larroquette Show”
(September 7, 2000 – Los Angeles, CA) - USA Network continues to add to its acquired series library with the acquisition of three off-network shows from Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution -- “Veronica’s Closet,” “Jesse” and “The John Larroquette Show,” which includes seven never-before-seen-episodes. The announcement was made today by Jane Blaney, Vice President, Program Acquisitions & Scheduling, USA Cable.
The multi-year deal begins September 11, 2000 when the new series join USA Network’s daytime comedy lineup airing Monday through Fridays from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Below are details of the package from Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution:
“Veronica’s Closet” (66 episodes) -- Veronica (Kirstie Alley) is the best romance expert around. Unfortunately, her expertise only works on others. After dumping her womanizing husband, she must rebuild her life and image through her intimate apparel company with the help of its employees. Dan Cortese, Wallace Langham, Daryl Mitchell and Kathy Najimy also star.
“Jesse” (42 episodes) -- A single mother (Christina Applegate) tries to find love again with her new boyfriend Diego (Bruno Campos), of whom her father disapproves. She’s also got her hands full with her two brothers, two girlfriends at work and her ex-husband, who walked out on her seven years earlier, but is back trying to reinsert himself into the family.
“The John Larroquette Show” (84 episodes) -- Including seven episodes that never aired during the series’ original network run. John (Larroquette) is a recovering alcoholic who becomes the manager of a big city bus station. The tragicomic theme of the show is perhaps summed up best by an old carnival sign that now hangs in his office, “This is a Dark Ride.” Liz Torres, Gigi Rice, Daryl Mitchell, Chi McBride, Lenny Clarke, Elizabeth Berridge, Bill Morey and Alison La Placa also star.
