(April 13, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Television has tapped former International Creative Management (ICM) television talent agent Tom Burke to lead its casting department, appointing him to the position of Senior Vice President, Head of Casting. The announcement was made today by Warner Bros. Television President Peter Roth. In his new role, Burke will supervise the casting of on-screen talent for all primetime television pilots and series produced by Warner Bros. Television, as well as scripted pilots and series for Warner Horizon Television. “We have worked closely with Tom for many years as an agent and witnessed first-hand his passion for television and his taste in marrying the right talent with the right material,” said Roth. “We look forward to Tom joining our team and to benefiting from his relationships as he leads our efforts to assemble the best casts for our pilots and series.” Burke will report to Roth and oversee WBTV’s industry-leading casting team, which includes Senior Vice President Anthony Sepulveda, Vice President Margaret “Meg” Simon, Directors Tony Birkley and John Power, and Manager Findley Davidson. He succeeds Mary V. Buck, who recently announced her retirement from the Studio. Before joining WBTV, Burke served as an agent in the television talent department at ICM for the last 10 years, representing clients such as Calista Flockhart, Lauren Graham, Martin Sheen, Shirley MacLaine, Jada Pinkett Smith, Rosie Perez and Dermot Mulroney, among many others. He previously was a packaging agent in ICM’s movies and miniseries unit for three years. Prior to ICM, Burke was Director of Development, Movies and Miniseries, at the FOX Broadcasting Company for three years, after having been Director, Talent and Casting, at CBS Entertainment, where he also oversaw telefilms and miniseries. He began his casting career at Columbia Pictures Television, serving as Director, Casting, for two years after joining the company as Manager, Casting.
