Warner Home Video Announces Philippe Cardon Promoted to Executive Vice President and General Manager for EMEA
(November 2, 2004 – Burbank, CA) - Warner Home Video (WHV) President Jim Cardwell announced today that Philippe Cardon has been promoted to Executive Vice President and General Manager for Europe/Middle East and Africa effective immediately.
“We’re very pleased to announce this promotion and recognize Philippe’s significant responsibilities in our European/Middle East and African operations,” Mr. Cardwell said. “This decision is a reflection of Mr. Cardon’s long service to Warner Home Video, the success he’s enjoyed with the company and his expertise in Europe as well as the other affiliated territories.”
Mr. Cardon will lead Warner Home Video’s Europe, Middle East and African operations including the supervision of the rapid growth of DVD in these territories.
Based in London, Mr. Cardon was most recently Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa, transferring from Warner Home Video France where he served as Deputy Managing Director since his promotion to that post in 1994. He joined Warner Home Video France in 1991 as Director of Finance and Administration. Previously, Mr. Cardon held positions with Ernst and Young, Paris and Warner Bros./Columbia as Director of Theatrical Finance.
Mr. Cardon holds a graduate degree in Sales and Finance from the EDC School in Paris, and attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, CA.
