The WB’s Ghostly Rock ‘N Roll Comedy “Dead Last” Premieres August 14
(July 17, 2001 – Burbank, CA) — The WB’s supernatural series “DEAD LAST” will premiere on Tuesday, August 14, at 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET, it was announced today by Jordan Levin, President, Entertainment for The WB.
This paranormal series from Steve Pink, D.V. DeVincentis (“Grosse Pointe Blank,” “High Fidelity”) and Patrick O’Neill chronicles the misadventures of a fledgling rock band on the verge of being discovered when the rockers make a discovery of their own: a magical ancient amulet that gives them the power to see ghosts – whether they want to or not. Slightly deterred from fame by their newfound responsibility of helping an endless parade of desperate, and sometimes angry, apparitions resolve their unfinished business, the band begrudgingly intertwines their desire for rock and roll success with the lifelong gig of ushering the dead to the other side.
The series features newcomer Kett Turton as the brooding and charismatic lead singer Vaughn Parrish; Tyler Labine (“Antitrust”) as the band’s hulking drummer Scotty Sallback whose rough and tumble exterior masks a good natured soul, and Sara Downing (“Roswell”) as Jane Cahill, the beautiful bass player who often serves as the peacemaker in the group. Wayne Péré (“Out of Sight”) rounds out the cast as their tightly wound manager Dennis Budny.
Created by Steve Pink, D.V. DeVincentis and Patrick O’Neill, who also serve as executive producers, “DEAD LAST” is produced by Evanston Motor and Pump in association with Warner Bros. Television. # # #
