The WB 100+ Station Group Enters New Partnerships With Five Local Broadcasters
(July 5, 2000 – Burbank, CA) – The WB 100+ Station Group has five new broadcast partners who will manage and sell local advertising for the group’s cable-exclusive stations in their respective markets, it was announced today by Russell H. Myerson, executive vice president and general manager.
The WB 100+ Station Group’s new partners include: Brechner Management Company’s KTKA, the ABC affiliate in Topeka; Waitt Broadcasting’s KYOU, the FOX affiliate in Ottumwa-Kirksville; Cosmos Broadcasting’s KAIT, the ABC affiliate in Jonesboro; Freedom Television’s WLAJ, the ABC affiliate in Lansing; and Shockley Communications’ WAOW, the ABC affiliate in Wausau-Rhinelander.
Said Myerson, “Our strategic alliances in each market are vital to the success of The WB 100+ Station Group. Each station is its own local entity and it has always been our goal to be in business with the best possible partner in every market. These new partnerships are a testament to both the current success and the potential of The WB 100+. In addition to the station group’s new broadcast partners, The WB 100+ has expanded its agreement with Midcontinent Communications in Sioux Falls, SD. Beginning this month, Midcontinent will also represent The WB in Rapid City and Minot-Bismarck-Dickinson. KWJB, The WB 100+ Station Group’s Sioux Falls affiliate, was a recipient of the network’s Golden Froggy award at the recent advertising upfront meetings in New York.
The WB 100+ Station Group is a local cable-delivered station group that is affiliated with The WB Television Network and is exclusive to markets ranked 100-210. # # #
